ACCENT Academy Terms and Conditions
Welcome to the ACCENT Academy, a unique opportunity to collaborate with ACCENT to bring your audio project to life! These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern your application to and participation in the ACCENT Academy. By submitting your application, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs. Please read them carefully.
1. About ACCENT Academy
ACCENT Academy is a 12-month program where selected creators collaborate with ACCENT to develop, design, and strategize their audio projects (e.g., podcasts or similar formats). We’ll work together to drive commercial opportunities, potentially connect you with collaborators, and split any revenue 50/50 during the collaboration period. At the end of the collaboration, or upon mutually agreed separation, you retain full intellectual property (IP) ownership of your project, unless otherwise negotiated.
2. Application Process
• Eligibility: Applicants must be fluent in English and submit their application by October 31st, 2025. There are no regional restrictions.
• Submission Requirements: Provide your personal details, a pitch, an audio demo of your idea or talent, and if you deem relevant, links to relevant video content.
• Selection: ACCENT reserves 100% autonomy in selecting participants through an internal collaboration valuation process. A minimum of two (2) creators will be selected for the 2025 Academy, starting December 2025.
• Outcome Notification: Successful applicants will be notified and start work by December 2025. Unsuccessful applicants may not receive individual feedback due to the volume of submissions.
3. Collaboration Terms
• Duration: Selected creators commit to a 12-month collaboration starting December 2025. Extensions may be negotiated.
• Revenue Sharing: Any revenue generated from the project during the collaboration will be split 50/50 between you and ACCENT.
• IP Ownership: You retain full IP ownership of your project upon completion or separation, unless a new agreement is negotiated beyond the initial 12 months.
• Collaborators: ACCENT may introduce you to collaborators, but any agreements with them are your responsibility.
• Termination:
o Initial Termination Period: Either party may terminate the collaboration within the first 20 days of the agreement with written notice, effective immediately.
o Ongoing Termination: After the initial 20 days, either party may terminate the collaboration with 60 days’ written notice. Upon termination, you retain IP ownership, and revenue sharing ceases.
4. What You Get
As an ACCENT Academy participant, you receive a tailored 12-month service plan, including:
• Development & Design: We craft bold, personality-driven, and music-driven audio formats, transforming your idea into a standout series or program built for connection and lasting impact. You’ll receive a schedule of development and design activities specific to your project.
• Strategy: We’ll build a roadmap to reach your target audience, defining positioning, tone, and professional practices to ensure your content resonates on air, in feeds, and across digital platforms. Regular feedback meetings will review product and strategy progress.
• Commercial Solutions: We’ll support the creative aspects of commercial activity and, when opportunities arise, navigate partnerships or campaigns to maximize impact, drawing on our experience with successful UK and Ireland audio campaigns.
• Accent Aggregator: We’ll connect you with the right talent—producers, editors, hosts, or commercial teams—across the UK, Ireland, and beyond, leveraging our industry insights to enhance your project.
• Additional Support: Any additional production support (e.g., specialized services beyond the core plan) will incur costs to you, to be discussed and agreed upon during planning.
The scope of support will be identified by ACCENT based on your project’s needs, with regular feedback meetings to ensure alignment.

Amendment to ACCENT Academy Terms and Conditions: Collaboration with Say It Now - 15th October 2025
The following amendment ("Amendment") supplements and forms part of the ACCENT Academy Terms and Conditions ("T&Cs") dated [Insert Date of Original T&Cs]. This Amendment incorporates the collaboration between ACCENT and Say It Now ("SIN"), a specialist in creating interactive audio advertisements and voice-engaged content for brands on platforms such as Alexa and other voice-enabled ecosystems. Selected Academy participants ("Participants") may receive additional services from SIN as outlined below. All other terms of the T&Cs remain in full force and effect, except where expressly modified by this Amendment.
By accepting selection into the ACCENT Academy and participating in the SIN collaboration (if offered), you agree to be bound by this Amendment. This Amendment aligns with the data protection framework in Section 5 of the T&Cs and extends it to cover SIN's involvement.
1. About the Say It Now Collaboration
The ACCENT Academy collaborates with SIN to enhance Participants' projects with interactive voice technology expertise. SIN will provide specialized support to up to 3 selected Participants per Academy cohort, focusing on integrating interactive audio elements into their podcasts or audio formats. This collaboration aims to equip Participants with tools for brand partnerships, audience engagement via voice platforms, and monetization through interactive ads.
Eligibility for SIN support is at ACCENT's discretion, based on project alignment with SIN's capabilities. SIN support will commence within the first 3 months of the Academy program and align with the 12-month Academy duration, subject to extension by mutual agreement.
2. SIN Services and Training Provided to Participants
As a Participant receiving SIN support, you will benefit from a customised service plan, including but not limited to:
Development & Integration: Support and training on using a platform to create, and launch Alexa Skills, view engagement and update content.
Training & Workshops: Hands-on workshops (virtual or in-person) covering voice UI/UX design, best practices for brand-aligned interactive ads, and A/B testing for engagement metrics. Sessions will total approximately 4 x 2-hour modules over the collaboration period
Strategy & Optimisation: Co-development of a voice strategy roadmap, including audience targeting via smart assistants, performance analytics, and iteration based on user interaction data.
Commercial Opportunities: Support for commercialisation, introduction to SIN's brand network for pilot interactive ad campaigns, with ACCENT facilitating initial connections. Any revenue from SIN-facilitated opportunities during the collaboration period will be subject to the 50/50 revenue sharing in Section 3 of the T&Cs, unless a separate agreement is negotiated.
Additional Resources: Access to SIN's Specific tools/resources, e.g. proprietary voice prototyping toolkit and sample interaction libraries for project enhancement. Any bespoke or extended services beyond the core plan will be discussed and agreed upon, potentially incurring costs to you.
The scope of SIN services will be defined in a Participant-specific addendum, reviewed in joint feedback meetings with ACCENT and SIN teams to ensure alignment with your project goals.
3. Collaboration Terms Specific to SIN
Duration and Termination: SIN support follows the Academy's 12-month duration and termination provisions in Section 3 of the T&Cs. Early termination of the Academy agreement will end SIN involvement without further obligation.
IP Ownership: You retain full IP ownership of any interactive elements developed with SIN support, subject to the revenue sharing in Section 3 of the T&Cs during the collaboration. SIN grants you a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use SIN-provided tools, templates, or methodologies for your project. Any SIN-owned IP (e.g., proprietary scripts or platforms) remains SIN's property.
Confidentiality: Section 7 of the T&Cs extends to SIN; all parties (you, ACCENT, and SIN) agree to maintain confidentiality regarding shared project details, brand strategies, or interaction data.
Liability: Section 8 of the T&Cs applies to SIN activities. SIN is not liable for any issues arising from your use of their services, except in cases of negligence. You indemnify ACCENT and SIN against claims related to your project's interactive elements infringing third-party rights.
4. Personal Data and Audio Content: Extensions for SIN Collaboration
This section supplements Section 5 of the T&Cs to address data handling in the SIN collaboration. ACCENT and SIN comply with applicable data protection laws (including EU/UK GDPR, South Africa’s POPIA, Australia’s Privacy Act, USA’s CCPA, and UAE’s PDPL where relevant).
4.1 Additional Data Collected via SIN
In addition to data outlined in Section 5.1:
Interaction Data: Anonymized or aggregated data from voice interactions, prototypes, or ad tests (e.g., engagement metrics, response rates).
SIN-Specific Inputs: Any project files, voice scripts, or feedback shared with SIN during workshops or development.
4.2 How SIN Uses Your Data
SIN will process data:
To deliver services, training, and strategy as outlined in Section 2 above.
To improve their interactive audio offerings (in aggregated, anonymized form).
For promotional purposes (e.g., case studies), with your explicit consent.
Processing aligns with the legal bases in Section 5.3 of the T&Cs. SIN acts as a joint controller with ACCENT for Academy-related data and as a processor for service delivery.
4.3 Data Sharing with SIN
Your data may be shared with SIN's team or service providers (e.g., voice platform APIs like Amazon Alexa) solely for fulfilling SIN services.
Transfers to SIN (if outside your jurisdiction) will use GDPR-compliant mechanisms (e.g., standard contractual clauses). SIN ensures equivalent protections under local laws.
4.4 Data Retention for SIN
Data shared with SIN will be retained for the collaboration period plus 6 months, or as required by law. SIN will securely delete data upon request or project end, subject to audit rights.
4.5 Your Rights
Your rights under Section 5.6 extend to SIN-processed data. Contact ACCENT at helloyou@thataccent.com (who will coordinate with SIN) to exercise them. SIN's data protection contact is [SIN Team to Insert: e.g., "dataprotection@sayitnow.com"].
5. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Amendment is governed by the laws of England and Wales per Section 9 of the T&Cs. Any disputes involving SIN will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, subject to mandatory local laws.
6. Contact for SIN Collaboration
For SIN-specific queries, contact info@sayitnow.ai . All general inquiries remain with ACCENT at helloyou@thataccent.com .
This Amendment may be updated by ACCENT in consultation with SIN, with changes posted on the ACCENT website per Section 11 of the T&Cs.
